Marathon Hike Charity Challenge
The training is over and in just a couple days time, on Saturday 15th June, the Westgate Team will be setting off to complete a 25 mile walk to raise vital funds for World Horse Welfare. Now it's all about the logistics and the final prep which includes a maurading map and bacon sandwhiches!
The team are certainly fitter and healthier following months of training and while it is a long way from Bamburgh Castle in the north, down the coastline to end at Warkworth Castle, they're determined to cross the finish line! With planned stops along the route for water and snacks, the first big route milestone will be making it to the 16 mile mark where Directors David & Gillian, founders of Westgate, will have hot bacon butties for the intrepid group!
Director Claire is also an artist and her wonderful illustrated marauders map is such a special way to show the route and as the team go from castle to castle down the beautiful coast of Northumberland.
