Making The Right Choice: Subscription Service Or Season Packs?
At Westgate Labs, we understand that responsible parasite control is essential for the health and wellbeing of your horse. With this in mind, we offer two comprehensive service options designed to make testing easy and effective: the 4Count Plus Season Pack and our All Seasons Subscription Service. While we have recently had to make some adjustments to our pricing, our commitment to providing top-tier service and expert advice remains steadfast.
Comparing Our Services
Here’s a breakdown of both services to help you choose the best option for your horse.
Season Packs
4Count Plus Season Pack – £90.00 (plus £5.95 P&P) = £95.95 (One-time payment)
- Includes 4 worm egg counts and 2 EquiSal tapeworm tests
- All test kits are provided upfront in a handy wallet for the year ahead
- Single postage charge of £5.95
- Optional email reminders every 3 months for worm egg counts and every 6 months for tapeworm tests
- Additional tests need to be purchased separately
In addition we also offer a 4Count Season Pack that excludes the 2 x EquiSal tapeworm tests and also offers a refill option. This is £39.00 (plus £5.95 P&P) = £44.95 (One-time payment).
Subscription Plans
All Seasons Subscription – £9.99 per month (£119.88 per year)
- Rolling plan that spreads the cost monthly for convenience
- Kits sent to you when needed – no need to track your schedule
- Full advisory support, including guidance on encysted small redworm management
- Free reduction test if your winter worm egg count is positive
- £25 annual test allowance for additional testing (e.g., pinworm or sand tests)
- Includes postage costs for all test deliveries
- Cancel anytime after the first three months
While the subscription service costs slightly more, it offers added convenience, postage coverage, and additional benefits that ensure complete peace of mind.
In addition we also offer Essential Care Subscription plans Starting from only £5.75 per month that exclude the 2 x EquiSal tapeworm tests.
Why Have Prices Increased?
We appreciate that price increases can be challenging, and we want to be upfront about why we’ve had to make these adjustments. Several factors have contributed to this:
- Royal Mail postage costs have risen multiple times and are set to increase again
- EquiSal manufacturer price increases have impacted our costs
- Staff wages have risen in line with mandatory national living wage increases and training for our lab technicians and SQPs must be maintained to ensure the highest quality service
- Material costs for our sustainable packaging have increased slightly.
These changes mean that our subscription service has increased slightly this year. We have done our best to keep prices as low as possible while continuing to deliver the outstanding level of service and expertise that our customers expect.
Your Options Moving Forward
We understand that different budgets and preferences may influence your decision. If the subscription price increase is a concern, you have options:
- Switch to the Essential Care plan – This option removes EquiSal testing and lowers your monthly subscription cost to £5.75 per month.
- Opt for the Season Pack – Pay upfront and manage your own testing schedule.
